Cassie Jozefov founded Violet Hour Media in 2020 with a single conviction: that horror audio could be something other than ambient noise. It could be prestige — with the same ambition, craft, and intentionality as the best films and novels in the genre.
Before VHM, Cassie worked as a Strategy Executive at Warner Bros., where she developed expertise in how stories move across platforms and audiences. She left to co-found a stealth horror media venture with Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) and Roger Birnbaum (Rush Hour, Seabiscuit), which sharpened both her production instincts and her conviction that audio horror was badly underserved by the market.
Violet Hour Media launched with In Another Room — adapted from a critically acclaimed LA immersive theatre experience — and quickly established a catalog of eight original series with Emmy winners, Hellraiser franchise stars, Saw franchise leads, and original scores from composers who work across film and television. In 2025, VHM launched The Fear Archive, which became the studio's fastest-growing show.
Violet Hour Media develops and produces original horror audio series, with distribution across Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and additional platforms. Select titles are co-distributed with Realm.
Every project in the catalog is a closed, complete work — fully realized, fully produced, and built to be discovered. The studio does not produce episodic content designed around advertising metrics. It produces stories designed to be remembered.
The active flagship series, The Fear Archive, is a live true crime and horror-history show hosted by Amanda Kagiwada and Michael Ryan Assip, produced as a Violet Hour Media original.
