Violet Hour Media (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a horror audio studio based in Los Angeles, California. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information gathered through violethourmedia.com (the “Site”).

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Email addresses provided voluntarily when you subscribe to our mailing list.
• Contact form submissions including your name, email, and message content.
• Usage data collected automatically through standard web analytics (page views, referral sources, session duration).

We do not collect payment information, sell personal data, or engage in behavioral advertising.

How We Use Your Information

Email addresses collected through our subscription form are used solely to send you studio updates, new episode announcements, and editorial content you have opted into. We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to manage our email list.

Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submitters to any mailing list without explicit consent.

Third-Party Services

These are the only third parties this website contacts, and what each one does.

Spotify and YouTube provide the players and videos embedded on show pages. They load only when you open a player, not when the page loads, so neither company is contacted until you ask to listen or watch. YouTube embeds use youtube-nocookie.com. Once you play something, each is governed by its own privacy policy.

Megaphone hosts our podcast feeds and serves the audio. Episode lists on show pages are read from those feeds when the page loads.

Podtrac and Podscribe measure podcast listening. The audio address published in our feeds passes through both before reaching Megaphone. That is standard for podcasts and is how downloads are counted across every app that carries our shows — and it means that when you play a trailer on a show page here, both services see the request and the play is counted the same way. They are contacted only when you press play, never when a page loads.

Web3Forms processes the contact form. If you send us a message, your name, email address and message pass through Web3Forms to reach our inbox, governed by their privacy policy. We use it only to reply.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) manages our email list. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with Kit and subject to their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from any email.

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and referrers. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other sites.

Our episodes are also distributed through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeart and other platforms. When you listen there rather than here, that platform’s own terms apply and we receive only aggregate figures.

Our typefaces are served from this website, not from Google Fonts or any other font service, so no third party is contacted to render text.

Cookies

Data Retention

Email subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Unsubscribed addresses are removed from our active list within 30 days.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at contact@violethourmedia.com.

Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
